Opel announces all-electric Corsa GSE performance hatchback

Opel has announced the new all-electric Corsa GSE, reviving the brand’s performance-oriented GSE (Grand Sport Electric) badge. The vehicle is scheduled to make its world exhibition premiere at the Paris Motor Show in October and is confirmed to arrive in Ireland later this year.

The Corsa GSE is designed as a high-performance hot hatch, featuring 207 kW (281 hp) and 345 Nm of torque. It is powered by a 54 kWh lithium-ion battery with a 51 kWh usable capacity. Drivers can select from three distinct driving modes: Sport, which enables a 0 to 100 km/h acceleration in 5.5 seconds; Normal, which provides 170 kW (231 hp) and a top speed of 180 km/h; and Eco, which prioritizes efficiency with a top speed of 150 km/h.

To enhance driving dynamics, the front-wheel-drive model includes a Torsen multi-plate limited-slip differential, a lowered sports chassis, specialized axles, stabilizers, and hydraulic shock absorbers. The car also features four-piston performance brakes and 18-inch wheels equipped with Michelin Pilot Sport 4S tires.
