Opel expands Frontera SUV lineup with new petrol engine
Opel has expanded its Frontera SUV lineup with the introduction of a new 100 CV (74 kW) turbo petrol engine paired with a six-speed manual transmission. This new option is designed for simplicity and accessibility, joining the existing hybrid and fully electric versions of the vehicle.
Alongside the new engine, the brand is debuting the ‘Start’ trim level, which serves as the entry point for the Frontera family. The Start trim includes features such as a six-way adjustable Intelli-Seat, climate control, rear parking sensors, and a lane departure warning system. It also features a 10-inch display and a dedicated smartphone station on the center console.
The Frontera range remains diverse, offering a 110 CV hybrid system with a dual-clutch transmission and a Frontera Electric model featuring a 44 kWh battery. In terms of utility, the SUV provides 460 liters of cargo space with all seats up, which can expand to approximately 1,600 liters when the 60:40 split rear seats are folded down.
