Opel launches Frontera Start entry-level SUV

Opel has introduced the Frontera Start, a new entry-level trim for its compact SUV designed to increase affordability. In the German market, the model starts at 21,990 euros, making it more affordable than the brand's Corsa hatchback.

The Start version features a non-electrified 1.2-liter three-cylinder turbo petrol engine producing 100 hp, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and front-wheel drive. To maintain the lower price point, the vehicle includes essential equipment such as air conditioning, a 10-inch digital instrument cluster, rear parking sensors, and a smartphone holder in place of a central multimedia touchscreen.

Exterior cost-saving measures include 16-inch steel wheels and black plastic trim on the side mirrors and bumpers. Despite the simplified interior and tech, the vehicle retains safety features like lane departure warning and maintains the standard Frontera cargo capacity of 460 to 1,600 liters.
