Opel unveils new Frontera hybrid 7‑seat SUV with discounted pricing

Opel, now part of Stellantis, has reintroduced the Frontera name with a new SUV line. The range includes a standard five‑seat model offered with a 48‑volt mild‑hybrid or fully electric powertrain, and a newly added seven‑seat version that is only available with a mild‑hybrid system. Both powertrains are offered in 110 PS and 145 PS outputs and are paired with a six‑speed automatic transmission. The seven‑seat model is limited to the top‑of‑the‑range GS trim, featuring a distinctive squared‑jaw front design, LED lighting, and the Opel Vizor grille. Inside, the cabin offers a 10‑inch touchscreen, digital instrument cluster, wireless Apple CarPlay/Android Auto, and patented “Intelli‑Seat” fronts that reduce tailbone pressure.

In Hungary, Opel is promoting the Frontera with a summer price campaign. The 145 PS mild‑hybrid automatic Edition is listed at 7.49 million forints, while the fully electric version starts at 8.49 million forints, a difference of just one million forints. A five‑plus‑two‑seat configuration adds a 330 000‑forint surcharge. The discount programme also extends to other Opel models, such as the Corsa, Mokka, Grandland, and Astra Sport Tourer, all offered with significant price reductions to stimulate demand in a price‑sensitive market.
