Open Arms delivers second humanitarian aid mission to Cuba

The Spanish NGO Open Arms has completed its second humanitarian mission to Cuba, delivering approximately three tons of medical supplies, powdered milk, and hemodialysis equipment to Havana. The donations were distributed to the Juan Manuel Márquez Pediatric Hospital and the Dr. Abelardo Buch López Institute of Nephrology.

During the visit, Open Arms director Óscar Camps inspected the intensive care unit at the pediatric hospital, which continues to operate using electricity generated by photovoltaic systems provided during the organization's previous mission in July. Camps stated that despite existing blockades, it is possible to provide aid and expressed hope that their initiative would encourage other organizations and governments to take similar action.

The mission arrives as Cuba faces significant energy and healthcare challenges. The delivery aims to support medical professionals working under difficult conditions and mitigate the impact of energy shortages on critical patient care.
