Open Secure AI Alliance moves to Linux Foundation to ensure neutrality

The Open Secure AI Alliance (OSAA) has migrated its governance to the Linux Foundation to ensure neutrality. Originally launched by NVIDIA following a security incident at Hugging Face in early 2026, the coalition has grown from 40 to over 120 members, including IBM, Red Hat, SpaceXAI, and Visa. The move to the Linux Foundation aims to prevent vendor lock-in and establish the alliance as a global standard for AI inspection, auditing, and observability tools.

In a parallel effort to strengthen defenses against AI-driven threats, Check Point Software has joined an OpenAI-led initiative for collective cybersecurity action. This coalition focuses on expanding access to security tools and sharing technical intelligence to help organizations of all sizes identify and correct vulnerabilities.

Check Point Research notes that the evolution of AI is accelerating the threat landscape, potentially reducing the window for patching vulnerabilities to between 12 and 72 hours as AI models become more proficient at generating functional exploits at scale.
