OpenLogi released as open-source alternative to Logitech Options+

OpenLogi, an open-source, local-first alternative to Logitech’s official 'Logi Options+' software, has gained significant attention from users. Written in Rust, the application allows for the customization of Logitech mice, keyboards, and webcams without requiring user registration, cloud connectivity, or telemetry.

The development of OpenLogi follows user dissatisfaction with the official software, which requires account registration and external server connections. Additionally, a certificate expiration error by Logitech caused macOS users to lose access to their device settings earlier this year, highlighting the need for reliable alternatives.

OpenLogi offers broader platform support than the official software by including Linux (X11 / XWayland). While it has gained over 15,000 stars on GitHub, developers note that the project is still in active development and may not be fully stable. Users should be aware that OpenLogi and the official Logitech software cannot be used simultaneously due to HID++ access conflicts.
