OpenTrade Secures $17 Million Funding to Expand Global Stablecoin Yield Platform

OpenTrade, a London‑based institutional platform for on‑chain and real‑world asset‑backed lending, announced a $17 million strategic funding round. The round, led by Mercury Fund and Notion Capital with participation from a16z Crypto, Albion VC and CMCC Global, lifts total capital raised to more than $30 million.

The new capital will accelerate the rollout of both permissioned and permissionless yield infrastructure, including the company’s Curation+ vault framework that structures diversified strategies for fintechs, neobanks and asset issuers. OpenTrade already manages over $200 million in total value locked and projects transaction volume to exceed $1 billion by the end of 2026.

The raise comes as US lawmakers debate the CLARITY Act, which could shape how stablecoin rewards are regulated. OpenTrade’s CEO, David Sutter, expressed optimism about the legislation’s progress and highlighted the firm’s compliance‑by‑design approach for global clients.
