OperaLombardia announces 2026/2027 season for five Italian theaters
OperaLombardia has announced its 2026/2027 season, continuing its collaborative model that unites five prestigious traditional theaters in Northern Italy: Teatro Donizetti in Bergamo, Teatro Grande in Brescia, Teatro Sociale in Como, Teatro Ponchielli in Cremona, and Teatro Fraschini in Pavia.
The network aims to optimize resources, expertise, and programming to ensure sustainable management and high-quality artistic offerings. The season will feature five new opera productions and includes a partnership with the orchestra I Pomeriggi Musicali.
A highlight of the upcoming season is the production of Giacomo Puccini’s ‘Turandot’, marking the centenary of its first performance. This production is a co-production between OperaLombardia, Teatro del Giglio Giacomo Puccini in Lucca, and Fondazione Teatro Carlo Coccia in Novara. The new staging will debut at the Teatro Sociale in Como, featuring direction, sets, and costumes by Nadir Dal Grande, with musical direction by Alessandro D’Agos.
