Sarajevo Police detain 10 suspects in Operation 'Catering' crime crackdown
In a major law enforcement operation codenamed 'Catering', authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina have detained ten suspects as part of a multi-month investigation into organized crime. The operation, conducted by the Sarajevo Canton Police in coordination with the Intelligence and Security Agency (OSA) and the State Investigation and Protection Agency (SIPA), involved searches at over 20 locations.
Key suspects include Admir Arnautović and Adnan Maglić, who are accused of leading an international criminal network active between 2019 and 2022. The group is alleged to have engaged in the smuggling of narcotics—specifically at least 5.5 kilograms of cocaine and 10 kilograms of hashish—and the illegal trafficking of weapons and military equipment. Prosecutors claim the group realized an illegal profit of at least 438,105 KM.
Beyond smuggling, the indictment alleges the group used violence and extortion to maintain power, including a planned attack intended to cause serious bodily harm to singer Senidah. During the raids, police seized nine pistols, various ammunition, significant amounts of cash in multiple currencies, and two luxury vehicles, including a Mercedes G-Class and an Audi Q8. The suspects have been handed over to the Sarajevo Canton Prosecutor's Office for further legal proceedings.
