OPPO partners with Manus to integrate agentic AI into smartphones

OPPO has announced a collaboration with AI agent platform Manus to integrate next-generation agentic AI capabilities into its AI Mind Pilot system. This partnership aims to transition AI from a simple question-and-answer tool to a proactive assistant capable of executing complex, multi-step tasks.

The integration will debut on the upcoming OPPO Find X10 series, which will run the ColorOS 17 operating system. The new Agent Mode within AI Mind Pilot is designed to understand user goals, decompose them into actionable steps, retrieve necessary information, and select appropriate tools to deliver finished results. This includes the ability to process local files and photos to assist with tasks such as organizing travel itineraries or generating presentations.

To address privacy, OPPO stated that ColorOS 17 will utilize on-device models for local information processing. Sensitive data and files will remain on the device unless the user provides explicit permission for cloud-based processing.
