Huawei unveils Pura X View with wide 16:9.5 display
Huawei has officially unveiled the Pura X View, a new smartphone that introduces a “wide monoblock” design. Unlike traditional smartphones that use tall, narrow aspect ratios, this device features a 6.39-inch OLED display with a 16:9.5 aspect ratio, intended to provide a larger viewing area for videos, gaming, and productivity without the need for a folding mechanism.
The device boasts high-end technical specifications, including a resolution of 2,232 x 1,320 pixels and a peak brightness of 6,500 nits. Despite its wider form factor, the phone is remarkably thin at 6.68 mm and weighs 201 grams. It integrates a large 7,000 mAh battery and is expected to be among the first to run HarmonyOS 7.
Available in four colors—Leap Shadow Red, Linen Gray, Zero Degree White, and Phantom Night Black—the Pura X View offers memory configurations of 12 GB RAM with storage options of 256 GB, 512 GB, or 1 TB. Pre-orders have opened in China, with full market availability and pricing expected around August 28.
