Opposition figures Udhayanidhi Stalin and farmer leader warn Modi government amid protest activity in India
Opposition leader Udhayanidhi Stalin attended the unveiling of a statue of late communist leader Nallakannu in Chennai and criticised the public's tendency to celebrate Instagram reels rather than honour grassroots fighters. He said, "மக்களுக்கான களப்போராளிகளைவிட ரீல்ஸ் எடுப்பவர்களே கொண்டாடப்படுகின்றனர்" (society celebrates those who post reels more than genuine field fighters). The event was also attended by Communist Party of India (Marxist) state secretary M. Veerapandian.
In a separate development, farmer union chief Raghesh Thigayi met with leaders of the Karappan Poochi (CJP) party, including spokesperson Asutosh Ranka, to discuss forming a united front against Prime Minister Narendra Modi's government. Ranka warned that continued legal action against students involved in protests across several states could trigger renewed nationwide agitation, stating, "Our farmers, students and youth will jointly besiege the Modi government from all sides."
