Regional municipalities implement social and educational support programs

Various municipalities and organizations across the Balkans are implementing social and educational support programs.

In Croatia, the City of Zadar has approved continued funding for preschool programs in private kindergartens, ensuring consistent wages for educators and equal conditions for all children. Meanwhile, the City of Sinj is conducting coordination meetings for the ‘Zaželi dobro’ project, which provides daily assistance and hygiene supplies to elderly and disabled residents through 35 service providers.

In Bosnia and Herzegovina, the Hastor Foundation has signed scholarship agreements with 101 students in Zenica and surrounding areas, increasing monthly stipends by 20 percent for the 2026/2027 school year.

In Serbia, the City of Kruševac, in collaboration with the German organization ‘Help – Hilfe zur Selbsthilfe’ and with Swedish government support, has launched a new competition to provide equipment grants for at least 22 new microbusinesses, targeting vulnerable groups.

In Montenegro, the Municipality of Kolašin has allocated 171,636 euros to co-finance the adaptation of common areas in eight residential buildings.
