Oracle to offer Snowflake as a native service on OCI

Oracle has announced that the Snowflake AI Data Cloud will be available as a native, first-party service on Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI). This integration allows customers to access Snowflake’s analytics and AI capabilities directly through Oracle’s cloud platform and billing system.

Under this arrangement, customers can purchase and provision Snowflake through Oracle, utilizing unified pricing and Oracle Universal Credits. This setup enables businesses to apply existing cloud spending commitments toward Snowflake services, simplifying the procurement process.

The integration is designed to work with various Oracle data sources, including Fusion Cloud Applications, NetSuite, Autonomous AI Database, MySQL HeatWave, and Oracle NoSQL Database. By enabling direct data transfers, the partnership aims to reduce the need for custom-built data pipelines for reporting, data engineering, and machine learning workloads.

Additionally, Oracle announced an expansion of its partnership with OpenAI. This collaboration will integrate OpenAI models, such as ChatGPT and Codex, with Oracle’s applications, data, and cloud infrastructure through the Oracle AI Workspace.
