Oracle Cloud Infrastructure service expansions
Overview
Oracle has announced several strategic integrations and partnerships to expand the capabilities of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI).
In early October, Oracle and NetApp announced a collaboration to introduce a fully managed storage service on OCI. This service aims to integrate NetApp ONTAP capabilities directly into the platform to assist customers with cloud migration. In Europe, NetApp is also addressing data sovereignty needs through its Keystone Sovereign service, focusing on management, support origins, and telemetry collection.
By late October, Oracle announced that the Snowflake AI Data Cloud would be available as a native, first-party service on OCI. This integration allows customers to provision Snowflake through Oracle using unified pricing and Oracle Universal Credits. The setup is designed to work with various Oracle data sources to reduce the need for custom data pipelines. Additionally, Oracle expanded its partnership with OpenAI to integrate models like ChatGPT and Codex with Oracle applications and infrastructure through the Oracle AI Workspace.
