Oradea sports clubs prepare for water polo season and basketball qualifiers

Sports clubs from Oradea are preparing for upcoming domestic and international competitions.

The CSM Oradea men's water polo team is set to begin the 2026/2027 National Superliga season. Their home debut is scheduled for September 26 against Rapid București. The regular season will consist of 14 matches, with the team playing two games against each of their seven opponents. Following a break between mid-December and late January, the second half of the season will conclude in March 2027, leading into the playoff semifinals in April.

In basketball, CSM CSU Raiffeisen Oradea is competing in a qualification tournament in Samokov to reach the Basketball Champions League group stages. The team, which features a new technical staff and eight new players, must win three matches to advance. Their first opponent is the Cypriot champion, Petrolina AEK Larnaca. Success in this tournament would allow the team to compete for a spot in the main group stage of the competition.
