Orcas attack sailboat and destroy rudder off Spain coast
A pod of three to four killer whales attacked a sailboat off the coast of Spain, resulting in significant damage to the vessel. The incident occurred while the boat, part of team Seika Racing, was being moved from San Vicente on the Iberian Coast to another marina.
According to Gage Butler, a member of the crew, the attack lasted approximately eight minutes and caused the loss of half of the boat’s rudder. Butler described the encounter as both terrifying and fascinating.
