Orcolat ’76 theater tour to commemorate Friuli earthquake

The theatrical production ‘Orcolat ’76’, featuring Simone Cristicchi, is scheduled for a five-date tour across the Friuli Venezia Giulia region from October 20 to 24, 2026. The tour, part of the ERT theater circuit, will include performances in Latisana, Sacile, Maniago, Grado, and Artegna. An additional performance is set for October 25 at the Politeama Rossetti in Trieste.

Created to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the 1976 Friuli earthquake, the show uses the metaphor of a monster to represent the ‘earth’s cough.’ The narrative incorporates memories and testimonies regarding the tragedy and the subsequent reconstruction process, which has become a national model. The production features a text by Simone Cristicchi and Simona Orlando, with music by Valter Sivilotti.
