Istanbul to host 14th TAYK‑Eker Olympos Regatta in August

The 14th TAYK‑Eker Olympos Regatta will take place in Istanbul from 7 to 16 August. Organized by Turkey Open Sea Race Club (TAYK), the Turkish Sailing Federation and Eker Dairy Products, the event carries the motto “Catch the Wind”. Races will be held on the Marmara Sea in several classes – J70, J70 Match Race, Moving Galleon (Hareketli Salma), International One Metre (IOM) and Yachts – with daily starts at 12:00.

The opening programme runs on 7–9 August at Kalamış, followed by an offshore night race on 14 August off Çınarcık. The finale, the Istanbul Bosphorus Race, is scheduled for 16 August, with an awards ceremony later that evening. Live broadcasts will use the production team from the 2024 Paris Olympics, and the event is supported by the Ministry of Culture and Tourism and the Turkey Tourism Promotion Agency, aiming to raise Istanbul’s profile as a sailing hub and attract international attention.

In addition to the on‑water competition, a festival atmosphere with themed evenings, food stalls and cultural programmes will be offered onshore for participants and spectators.
