Oregon QB Dante Moore hospitalized after hit by USC's Desman Stephens II

Oregon quarterback Dante Moore was hospitalized with a concussion following a violent hit by USC defensive back Desman Stephens II during a game in Los Angeles. Moore was attempting to slide when Stephens delivered the hit, which resulted in an immediate ejection for targeting. Following the play, Stephens faced criticism for appearing to celebrate while Moore remained motionless on the field, sparking confrontations between the two teams.

USC has suspended Stephens for one game. USC coach Lincoln Riley described the player's actions as “unacceptable.” Meanwhile, Oregon coach Dan Lanning called the hit “disgusting.” Despite the injury, Moore posted an update on social media stating he has made progress and intends to “be back soon.” He has entered concussion protocol and is expected to return later this season.

The incident also drew backlash toward the USC radio broadcast team. Commentator Pete Arbogast faced criticism for suggesting Moore did not attempt to slide feet-first, a stance that appeared to contradict replays and drew visible disagreement from his broadcast partner, Shaun Cody.
