USC Trojans 2026 football season outlook

Overview

Fresno State, making its season debut in the Pac-12, struggled offensively, managing only 39 rushing yards and 77 passing yards. Bulldogs quarterback Jayden Mandal completed seven of 15 passes for 77 yards in his second career start.

Attendance at the Coliseum saw a slight increase following criticism of low turnout during the season opener; the announced crowd for the matchup was 53,014, approximately 2,000 more than the previous week. However, reports indicated that approximately 45,833 fans actually scanned through the gates. USC is scheduled to host the Louisiana Ragin’ Cajuns on September 12.
