Oregon women’s soccer defeats Portland State 3-0 in season opener

The University of Oregon women’s soccer team opened its 2026 season with a 3-0 victory over Portland State at Hillsboro Stadium. After a scoreless first half where Oregon outshot the Vikings 11-3, the Ducks secured three goals within a 10-minute span during the second half.

Carly Cormack scored twice, including a 55th-minute goal set up by Shiloh Baird, and a second goal in the 59th minute following an assist from Abella Hunter. Baird concluded the scoring in the 65th minute with a goal assisted by Cloe Chase. Head coach Tracey Joyner credited the win to a team effort and successful second-half adjustments. Oregon will play its first home game of the season against Gonzaga this Sunday.
