ORF Director-General Clemens Pig nominates 13 new top executives

ORF Director-General Clemens Pig has nominated 13 individuals for top leadership positions within the Austrian public broadcaster, consisting of five women and eight men. The nominations are expected to be approved by the Foundation Board.

Key appointments include Angelika Simma-Wallinger, formerly Editor-in-Chief of the Vorarlberg regional studio, who will become Director for Audience and Platforms. Silvia Lieb, a media manager from Moser Holding, has been named Director for Finance and Administration. Esther Mitterstieler, the current regional director for Tyrol, has been reappointed for a five-year term.

Other notable appointments include Michael Krön as Director for Program and Brands, while Harald Kräuter will remain in his role as Technical Director.

The leadership changes occur amidst internal scrutiny, including legal proceedings involving former ORF chief Roland Weißmann and investigations into Foundation Board Chairman Heinz Lederer.
