The complaint specifically notes that Pig lacks the required radio or television experience, citing his background with the Austria video platform instead. Westenthaler characterized the appointment as a ‘politically negotiated composition’ and indicated that further complaints regarding the 13 ORF directors are planned. On 11 August 2026, deputy chairman Gregor Schütze resigned from the ORF Foundation Council to focus on professional business interests. His departure follows scrutiny regarding potential conflicts of interest involving council members and the PR industry. The Austrian Ministry of Culture and Media has since opened applications for a new member.
