Organization of Turkic States expands cooperation in space and regional politics
The Organization of Turkic States (OTS) is expanding its institutional cooperation across economic, technological, and political sectors. An upcoming annual summit in Ankara, scheduled for October 29-30, will bring together foreign ministers and leaders to discuss the organization's future trajectory and deepen regional integration.
In a significant technological development, member states Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Turkey, and Uzbekistan signed a Space Industry Framework Agreement during the 77th International Astronautical Congress in Antalya. This agreement aims to formalize cooperation in space technologies, satellite development, scientific research, and industrial capacity building. OTS Secretary General Kubanichbek Omuraliyev noted that the agreement provides a concrete institutional foundation for expanding joint space projects, building upon previous initiatives such as the TDT-SAT experience and discussions regarding joint cube satellite projects.
