Organization of Turkic States integration efforts

Member states of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) are pursuing deeper integration through linguistic, administrative, and economic cooperation.

Initial discussions focused on linguistic evolution and travel ease. Experts suggested that a common Turkic communication language could emerge naturally from increased contact between diplomats and scholars. Concurrently, officials discussed prioritizing travel systems that would allow citizens to move between member states using only identity cards, similar to existing arrangements between Azerbaijan and Turkey.

Integration efforts expanded through the “Turkic World Dialogues: Common Future, Common Vision” panel in Astana, Kazakhstan. This forum addressed the development of a common alphabet, combating disinformation, and enhancing cooperation in science, technology, and economics. Participants also evaluated human mobility and the potential of the Middle Corridor. Turkey is set to assume the chairmanship of the OTS, with the upcoming 13th Summit of Heads of State and Government in Ankara intended to serve as a milestone for institutional unity and global visibility.
