Orlando Bloom discusses intimate scene in ‘Bucking Fastard’

Actor Orlando Bloom discussed filming an intimate scene in the film ‘Bucking Fastard’ while presenting the project at the San Sebastián Film Festival in Spain. Bloom, who plays Gareth Mulroney, described the scene involving real-life sisters Rooney and Kate Mara as a “very sincere sort of moment” that was collaboratively built by the three performers.

Bloom noted the vulnerability of his character and the “innocence” of the twin sisters portrayed by the Maras. Director Werner Herzog commented on his approach to the sequence, stating that he chose to step back and allow the actors to handle the intimacy, describing the final result as having “charm and depth.”

The film is loosely based on the lives of identical twin sisters Freda and Greta Chaplin.
