Orlando Bloom to receive Filming Italy Award at Venice Film Festival

British actor Orlando Bloom is set to receive the Filming Italy International Award during the 83rd Venice Film Festival. The ceremony is scheduled for September 6 at the Hotel Excelsior's Sala degli Stucchi.

Bloom will attend the festival as part of the cast for Werner Herzog’s competition film, ‘Bucking Fastard’. In this production, Bloom portrays Gareth Mulroney, a character involved in an obsessive relationship with twin sisters played by Kate and Rooney Mara.

Tiziana Rocca, the director of Filming Italy, praised Bloom as an actor of “extraordinary charisma” and “versatility,” noting his contributions to major film sagas such as ‘The Lord of the Rings’ and ‘Pirates of the Caribbean.’ The award, presented by Filming Italy — Los Angeles, aims to promote the connection between the Italian and Hollywood film industries.
