Orleans Brandão leads Maranhão poll and promotes tourism at Barreirinhas vaquejada

Orleans Brandão, the MDB pre‑candidate for governor of Maranhão, attended the 41st Vaquejada of Barreirinhas, praising the traditional rodeo as a driver of regional tourism and local commerce. He said, "A vaquejada é uma tradição que faz parte da nossa cultura e que movimenta toda a região…" while meeting the mayor Vinícius Vale, assembly president Iracema Vale and local entrepreneurs.

A poll released by the Instituto INOP for Jornal Pequeno showed Brandão with 45.06% of voter intentions, ahead of PSD candidate Eduardo Braide’s 43.52%, a margin of 1.54 points. In spontaneous voting, Brandão also led with 32.18% versus Braide’s 30.61%. The survey interviewed 2,610 voters between July 8‑16, with a 95% confidence level and a 3.02‑point margin of error.
