Orleans Brandão proposes full-time schooling and job creation in Maranhão

MDB candidate for the governorship of Maranhão, Orleans Brandão, has outlined a platform focused on continuity and expansion of public services. His primary educational goal is to transition 50% of state schools to a full-time regime, incorporating technical and vocational training.

To support youth, Brandão proposed a state-level ‘Pé-de-Meia’ program to encourage school retention, alongside the ‘Jovem Empreendedor’ initiative. The latter aims to provide zero-interest microcredit to students who wish to start their own businesses after completing technical training.

In the healthcare sector, the candidate intends to regionalize services by expanding the network of hospitals, polyclinics, and hemodialysis centers. He also emphasized providing increased support to municipal hospitals and local governments to improve regional healthcare coverage.
