Orleans Brandão secures political support in Carutapera

Orleans Brandão, a pre-candidate for the Governor of Maranhão representing the MDB, has secured political support from various regional leaders during a visit to Carutapera. The meeting included local figures such as Gabriel Amorim, the mayor of Peritoró, and several former council members.

Brandão presented several economic and educational proposals aimed at the region. Key initiatives include the ‘Jovem Empreendedor’ program, which would provide microcredit to young entrepreneurs, and a plan to transition 50% of state schools to a full-time education model within four years.

Additionally, Brandão addressed the economic potential of the local mining and prospecting sectors. He advocated for policies that ensure new investments in these industries are accompanied by local workforce qualification, aiming to create jobs for the resident population and reduce reliance on public sector employment.
