ORLEN joins Baltic Energy Initiative with 13 regional firms

ORLEN has joined forces with 13 other energy companies and organizations from Northern and Central Europe to launch the Baltic Energy Initiative. The agreement aims to strengthen energy security and regional competitiveness through collaborative projects.

Key focus areas for the initiative include offshore wind energy, LNG and BioLNG integration, the development of a regional hydrogen market, carbon capture and storage (CCS), and the advancement of nuclear energy, specifically small modular reactors (SMR).

The signatories represent a broad geographic reach, including Poland, Finland, Sweden, Denmark, Germany, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, and Norway. Participating entities include Eesti Energia, Enefit, Fortum, KN Energies, DNV Energy Systems, Topsoe, Siemens Energy, Adven, Steady Energy, P2X Solutions, Latvenergo, Gasgrid Finland, and Orsted.
