Orlen launches new marine transshipment terminal in Gdańsk

Orlen has launched a new Marine Transshipment Terminal on the Martwa Wisła in Gdańsk. The investment, valued at nearly 500 million PLN, was primarily executed by Polish companies.

In its first year, the terminal is expected to handle approximately 100 ships and transship about half a million tons of products. The facility's ultimate capacity is projected to reach between 1.8 and 2 million tons annually. The terminal allows for direct transshipment between the refinery and tankers, reducing reliance on rail and road transport, as well as external ports in Gdańsk and Gdynia.

The infrastructure includes a 380-meter quay with two berths capable of simultaneously servicing vessels up to 10,000 DWT. This project is intended to enhance fuel logistics security and operational independence for the refinery.
