Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León concludes social music marathon

The Orquesta Sinfónica de Castilla y León (OSCyL) has concluded its 13th Autumn Social Musical Marathon, a socio-educational initiative designed to promote universal access to culture. Over the course of one week, the orchestra performed 17 adapted concerts across various healthcare, educational, and social assistance centers throughout the Castilla y León region.

The program aimed to bring classical repertoire to groups with limited access to traditional concert halls. Specific performances included a violin and double bass duo at the Hospital Clínico Universitario de Valladolid and a brass quintet at the Hospital Universitario Santa Bárbara in Soria. The quintet performed a repertoire ranging from Baroque pieces to popular titles such as ‘Amparito Roca’.

In addition to hospital visits, the musicians performed at the Centro de Atención a Personas con Diversidad Intelectual Ángel de la Guarda. The initiative is supported by the Regional Ministry of Culture, Tourism, and Sports of the Junta de Castilla y León through the OSCyL Socio-educational Area and the Miguel Delibes Cultural Center.
