Orsara di Puglia declares municipal mourning after two local deaths

The community of Orsara di Puglia has declared a period of municipal mourning following the deaths of two local residents, Donato Terlizzi and Pasquale Maffia. Terlizzi died due to a tragic fatality, while Maffia passed away following a serious accident involving a tractor.

Mayor Mario Simonelli issued an ordinance canceling all scheduled events for Friday, August 14, 2026, to allow the community to express its condolences. As part of the mourning period, the sale and service of food and beverages in commercial establishments will be suspended during the funeral services held at the Chiesa Madre.
