Country artist Orville Peck has released a new single and music video titled ‘Already Gone’, a track from his upcoming album, Mule. The song blends elements of traditional outlaw country with the atmospheric textures of 90s shoegaze.

The music video, directed by Austin Peters, serves as a raw depiction of Peck’s personal struggle with addiction and his subsequent entry into a rehabilitation facility. Peck described the period as one of the ‘worst places’ in his life, noting that the video uses a musical-style flair to contrast with the reality of his crisis at the time.

Recurring figures from his previous works, including Noah Cyrus, Allison Russell, and Cathy Cooper, appear in the video as figments of his mind. The upcoming album, Mule, is intended to provide a chronological account of a transformative year involving heartbreak, addiction, and recovery.
