Osaka and Tokyo see new gourmet openings and retail renewals

New culinary developments are emerging in major Japanese urban hubs. In Osaka, several new dining and confectionery establishments have opened throughout 2026. Notable additions include Creo-ru Takoyaki Market in HEP NAVIO, which offers various sauce options and a unique long-share format, and Taiyo no To Hiya Koi Patisserie, a gelato and crepe specialist in Nakazaki. Other openings include Unagi Yondaime Kikukawa in Yodoyabashi Gate Tower, specializing in grilled eel, and SAKImoto bakery and more in Osaka Business Park, which features steamed vegetable and bread lunch plates.

In Tokyo, the Gransta Tokyo underground area near the Marunouchi gate has undergone a significant renewal. The revitalized space features 26 shops, including 10 new brands.
