Osaka Expo Park hosts national fish festival and Fukushima revival event Oct 2‑4, 2026

The SAKANA&JAPAN FESTIVAL 2026 will be held at Osaka’s Expo Commemoration Park (Wakakusa‑Koen) in Suita from October 2 to October 4. The three‑day event showcases seafood from across Japan, featuring tuna, salmon, crab, oyster, sea urchin, roe and regional dishes such as seafood bowls, ramen, okonomiyaki and more. It is Japan’s largest fish‑gourmet festival, with a cumulative attendance of about 2.95 million visitors.

Running alongside the food fair is the “Fukushima Festival,” aimed at supporting recovery after the 2011 disaster. The side program highlights Fukushima‑origin fish such as hirame and nodoguro, as well as fruit‑based desserts, and offers entertainment including live music, comedy acts, a bingo draw and a children’s play area. Admission is ¥500 (free for elementary‑school children) and payment can be made with cash, IC cards, PayPay or credit cards.
