Osaka police arrest two for attempted robbery and murder at Abechika

Osaka Prefectural Police have arrested two Vietnamese nationals, 33-year-old Lao Nhat Tam and 21-year-old Le Thi Khanh Linh, in connection with an attempted robbery and murder at the Abechika underground shopping mall near JR Tennoji Station.

The incident occurred in June, when the suspects allegedly stabbed a 31-year-old Vietnamese woman in the chest and other areas with a blade before stealing a bag containing approximately 220,000 yen in cash. The victim sustained injuries requiring two weeks of recovery.

Investigators believe multiple individuals fled the scene in a vehicle heading toward the Kanto region. Police are looking into the possibility that the suspects are members of “Tokuryu,” or anonymous and highly mobile criminal groups. Authorities are continuing to search for other individuals believed to be involved in the crime.
