Oscar Collazo withdraws from Ricardo Sandoval fight due to injury

Oscar Collazo has withdrawn from his scheduled October 10 flyweight title fight against Ricardo Sandoval due to a rib injury sustained during training. The bout was set to take place at the Wintrust Arena in Chicago as a co-feature to the Floyd Schofield Jr. vs. Lucas Bahdi lightweight title fight.

Sandoval, the unified WBA and WBC flyweight champion, currently lacks a replacement opponent for the event. While Collazo expressed regret and stated that the cancellation is “only a change of date,” the injury complicates his transition from the 105-pound to the 112-pound division.

Promoters Golden Boy and Most Valuable Promotions have not yet announced whether Sandoval will receive a new opponent for the October 10 card or if the fight will be rescheduled for a later date. The main event between Schofield and Bahdi remains on the schedule.
