OSCE Report Finds 1.6 Million Ukrainian Children Subjected to Russian Militarization

An OSCE‑mandated panel of independent experts released a report documenting that roughly 1.6 million children living in Ukrainian territories under Russian control are exposed to a systematic programme of indoctrination and militarisation. The report describes altered curricula, paramilitary training, early conscription and the forced removal of over 20,600 children, of whom only about 2,300 have been recovered.

The experts say the practice could amount to crimes against humanity and urge that any cease‑fire or peace negotiations address the children’s situation and create humanitarian corridors for family reunification. Russian authorities reject the allegations, claiming the measures are in the children’s interest.
