OSIPTEL launches consumer telecom tools at Lima International Book Fair
The Organismo Supervisor de Inversión Privada en Telecomunicaciones (OSIPTEL) set up an interactive stand called “La Casita OSIPTEL” at the Feria Internacional del Libro (FIL) in Lima, Peru. The exhibit lets visitors test free digital platforms that help users verify how many mobile lines are registered to their name, check network coverage in their area, compare mobile device prices, confirm the status of a device’s IMEI, and see whether a phone is listed in the national whitelist of registered equipment. The experience is presented through the fictional “family Telecom” – Sami Banda Ancha, Jorge Banda and their grandmother Carla Redes – who illustrate everyday scenarios of choosing plans, buying phones and protecting personal data. OSIPTEL aims to improve consumer awareness and enable more informed decisions about telecommunications services across the country.
