Overview

Since April 2025 OSIPTEL’s crackdown has blocked over four million mobile devices, up from 1.3 million reported in June 2026; in July 2026 another 120 000 phones were barred and the regulator aims to block a further 360 000 by month‑end, noting that 87 % of phone‑based extortion cases involve anonymous calls.
