Osman Ali Davutoğlu pursues Turkish oil wrestling championship

Osman Ali Davutoğlu, an 11-year-old boy born in Tanzania, has emerged as a rising talent in traditional Turkish oil wrestling. After losing his biological parents as an infant, he was adopted by Ali Davutoğlu, the former Turkish Ambassador to Tanzania, and his wife Yeşim Meço Davutoğlu.

Since moving to Turkey in 2020, Osman has transitioned from football and mat wrestling to oil wrestling, earning the nickname ‘Arap Osman’. He aims to follow in the footsteps of Mustafa Yıldız, an African-origin wrestler known as ‘Arap Mustafa’. Osman recently participated in the 35th Altın Kiraz Oil Wrestling Competitions in Antalya, where he drew the attention and support of veteran head wrestlers.
