A major investigation has been reopened into the 2011 death of former MİT official Kaşif Kozinoğlu at Silivri Prison. Following a decision by the Silivri Criminal Court of Peace on August 26, 2026, to overturn a previous non-prosecution ruling, authorities have launched a comprehensive probe into potential organized murder or poisoning.

Enver Altaylı, a former intelligence official and FETÖ convict, has been arrested on charges of instigating intentional murder. Altaylı has denied the allegations, claiming that digital evidence against him was mishandled. Additionally, Altaylı faces a separate investigation for allegedly threatening a prosecutor during his interrogation.

The investigation has expanded to include various individuals, including former prison officials, medical staff, and journalists. Former journalist Osman Arslan was arrested for disclosing prohibited information and membership in an organization.
