Bursa hosts 2nd Osmangazi Book Days with major author appearances

The 2nd Osmangazi Book Days, organized by Osmangazi Municipality in collaboration with the Publishers Cooperative (YAYKOOP), is currently underway at Osmangazi Square in Bursa. The nine-day event features a diverse program including publisher stands, panel discussions, and signing sessions.

Renowned crime novelist Ahmet Ümit was a major highlight of the event. During his talk titled ‘Cradle of Civilizations: Anatolia’, he discussed the historical depth of Anatolia and the cultural significance of Bursa. His appearance drew massive crowds, with signing queues extending beyond the fairgrounds. Osmangazi Mayor Erkan Aydın presented Ümit with a plaque in recognition of his contributions.

Other featured participants include writer and entertainer Gani Müjde, who held a session titled ‘Don’t Open a Shop if You Don’t Know How to Laugh’, and local authors such as Duran Saper and Meral Saylar. The festival aims to promote reading habits and connect the community with culture and art.
