Osogovo Sports Complex in Kyustendil to host official opening

The renovated Osogovo Sports Complex in Kyustendil is scheduled for its official opening on Saturday, October 17. The event will feature a day-long program, beginning at 13:00 with an athletics competition involving over 200 children, followed by a presentation of the FC Kyustendil youth academy.

Following the official ceremony at 18:00, friendly football matches will be played between veteran teams from Kyustendil, Marek, and CSKA. Notable guests expected at the event include football legends Krasimir Balakov and Emil Kostadinov, as well as representatives from the Bulgarian Olympic Committee and the Bulgarian Football Union.

The modernization project has completed its first two stages, which included installing a new perimeter fence, replacing the pitch's grass cover, adding new seating, and installing professional-standard lighting. The upgrades also feature a new eight-lane athletics track and specialized areas for throwing events. Funding for the project includes 750,000 euros from the Ministry of Youth and Sports, with approximately 2.7 million euros invested in the lighting, track, and auxiliary fields. A third stage of the project, valued at 1.5 million euros, is planned for the future.
