Ostrava launches new parking information portal

Ostravské komunikace, a municipal joint-stock company, has launched a new dedicated website, ostravaparkovani.cz, to centralize parking information for drivers in Ostrava. The platform is designed to be mobile-friendly and provides comprehensive data including parking maps, price lists, and real-time information regarding parking space occupancy.

In addition to location and pricing, the portal offers payment instructions and the ability to download digital tax documents. According to Michal Hrubý, director of Ostravské komunikace, the separate portal was created because the previous integration on the company's main website no longer met the user comfort needs for quick orientation.

Břetislav Rieger, the Deputy Mayor of Ostrava for Transport, noted that the portal aims to become a single point of reference for all parking options in the city, regardless of the operator. The website's open architecture allows for the potential future integration of parking lots managed by individual municipal districts or private entities.
