Ostrava opens modern shooting range in Hulváky
Ostrava has officially opened a new, highly modern shooting range in the Hulváky district, located on Plzeňská Street. The project, which transformed a former brownfield, cost approximately 150 million CZK and took 1.5 years to construct.
Managed by the municipal company Vítkovice Aréna, the facility features three separate indoor ranges for rifle, pistol, and air rifle shooting. The complex is designed to serve professional athletes, including national representatives and para-shooters, as well as youth clubs and the general public. To minimize noise impact on the surrounding area, much of the facility is built underground, with only air rifle and gas weapon shooting permitted above ground.
Mayor Jan Dohnal stated that the facility provides a unique environment for both elite and hobby shooters in Central Europe. The center is expected to host international competitions and offers services for corporate team-building activities. The facility is fully accessible and is expected to be fully open to the public during September.
